Kippenheim-Schmieheim, Germany. Photograph at the old Jewish cemetery, Jewish tourists Bernard and Asher Weill visit graves of ancestors and say Hebrew prayers during a Diaspora journey in Germany. The older man is Bernard Weill of London, and his son Asher Weill of Jerusalem is helping his father up the slope. Both men are wearing yarmulkes as they chant prayers, primarily the Mourners Kaddish prayer for the dead. Members of the Weill family lived in Kippenheim, Germany until WWII. Some members of the family emigrated to England earlier. They were traveling through Germany and other countries in Europe to visit Jewish Diaspora and other sites of family history.
